Drayton Manor is a theme park resort and zoo in the grounds of the former Drayton Manor, in Drayton Bassett, Staffordshire.
The park covers 280 acres of which about 113 acres are in use, and hosts about 1.5 million people each year.
In May 2016, Blachere Themed Environment Division (BITE UK) were approached by Drayton Manor to look at rebranding of their existing Ben 10 ride for the 2017 season.
We were initially commissioned to produce a design package for the project, known as Accelerator to reflect a F&F car racing-style ride, that could be realised to a set budget and this was completed and presented to them at the end of July 2016. Over the course of the following 6 weeks the designs were honed, with a great deal of close collaboration with the Drayton Manor Marketing and Operational teams, and fully costed.
By mid-September BITE UK had been commissioned to carry out the full detailed design, build and installation.
Project was delivered in full; on time for the agreed date of 24th March 2017 in readiness for the Easter opening.
“I just wanted to thank you and the team for the excellent project outcome for Accelerator.
It has once again been a pleasure to work with you and the team over the last few months from inception to final dressing out and effects for the ride.
What you and the team have achieved with a restricted budget is superb, and as a concept it has cleverly transformed an existing asset to an excellent standard of quality and re-theming.
I am delighted with the outcome and I am sure that the DMP guests will be too.
Once again many thanks for your excellent service and collaboration.”
