Exciting Expansions for our Client, Ashford Designer Outlet.
Since 2014, we have had the pleasure of working alongside Ashford’s team to bring the magic of Christmas to them every year. From huge live trees to traditional green pine garland, life-size nutcrackers and thousands of LED lights, we install the beautiful scheme without a hitch, year in, year out. See the case study.
The outlet, which currently stands at 185,000 sq ft. is the world’s largest tented retail structure, designed by Architect Richard Rogers, famous for Lloyd’s building in London, as well as the O2 Arena.
Exciting news has been announced for the Designer Outlet; a £90m, 100,000 sq ft. The extension is underway, to be open to the public in Autumn 2019. The much-anticipated expansion will see the installation of Europe’s largest living wall structure – with many of the new stores being clad in tens of thousands of plants, all stacked vertically.
With a lot of the Designer Outlet now a building site with limited accessibility, we have had to amend our scheme to suit the new environment, reacting effectively to the changes. Whilst the scheme elements remain the same, we have moved some of the features to more suitable areas, as well as working on exciting new additions for Christmas 2018.
For all of our projects, we carry out thorough site inspections, thus ensuring our design proposals are both plausible and safe for the public. We take all environmental factors into account for all Schemes.
Due to its Architectural structure, Ashford is exposed to extensive physical forces from the weather – being close to the coast, the wind can cause extreme movement of the structure, limiting the fixing points and designs we were able to install. Facing this problem head-on, we designed a stunning solution, which you now see showcased, every Christmas.
We are so excited to see the extension take form – Keep your eyes peeled for both our new Christmas additions and the incredible transformation of Ashford Designer Outlet!
