How Blachère Illumination is Championing Sustainable Festive Experiences
In an era where sustainability is no longer optional but essential, every industry faces a reckoning. For Blachère Illumination, a global leader in seasonal lighting and décor, this challenge is also an opportunity: an opportunity to illuminate the path toward a greener, more responsible future.
Rethinking Festive Lighting
For decades, festive lighting has brought joy, wonder, and shared experiences. Yet traditional lighting solutions often came with a heavy environmental footprint, high energy consumption, short lifespans, and wasteful materials. At Blachère Illumination, we’ve approached this challenge by embracing sustainable design principles without compromising on the magic our displays create.
Our journey began with energy-efficient LED technology, which consumes up to 80% less energy than traditional lighting. But sustainability is more than energy efficiency; it’s a commitment to the full lifecycle of our products. From design and materials to manufacturing and end-of-life recycling, we ensure that every light contributes to a circular economy rather than a linear, disposable model.
Our energy-efficient LED technology is paired with an optimised and patented design to enhance the luminous efficiency of our solutions. An inverted conical LED structure provides 320° coverage, making Blachère Illumination product the brightest on the market!
Innovation at the Core
Sustainability drives innovation at Blachère Illumination. Our modular designs mean that individual components can be replaced rather than the entire display, extending product life and reducing waste.
Leading by Example
As Councils, Shopping Centres, Retailers and Business Improvement Districts strive to meet net-zero targets, we see an enormous opportunity to redefine festive experiences, to create moments of wonder that don’t cost the planet.
Thanks to our patented eco-responsible materials, Bioprint, Recyprint, and Flexiprint, we manage to reduce the amount of aluminium in our decorations, thus reducing our carbon footprint. Did you know that Recyprint emits 10 times fewer greenhouse gases compared to aluminium?
What is Recyprint?
We’ve found a solution to transform plastic into beautiful and innovative decorations!
Plastic PET bottles (polyethylene terephthalate) collected from recycling are transformed and injected into our 3D printers to produce decorations in a multitude of colours.
What is Bioprint?
It is made from non-GMO, bio-sourced sugarcane, transformed into bioethanol at a French laboratory. The granules are dyed with clean pigments and then injected into our 3D printers in our workshops to produce biodegradable, recyclable, and colourful structures.
What is Flexiprint?
We valorise plastic waste from industrial production. With our patented printing processes, we transform them into a flexible, slightly elastic mesh, coloured, and of course 100% recyclable. Designed to withstand shocks and UV rays, adapting to all design needs. It embodies our commitment to eco-responsible design.
Sustainability is more than a trend, it’s the foundation for future creativity, resilience, and trust. This is embedded in everything Blachère Illumination does.
